CEO Angelica Donati speaks at the G20 YEA Summit in Beijing

LONDON, England – September 2016 Angelica Donati, CEO of Donati Immobiliare (DIG) spoke at the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (G20 YEA) summit in Beijing, China this month, where she led the Italian construction and real estate industry delegation (ANCE) and joined up with The General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria) to form the largest delegation at the summit.

Ahead of the G20 YEA summit, the group partnered with Milan Polytechnic, one of Italy’s most prestigious universities, and spent three days in Shangai visiting local companies to learn about Chinese business practices. This included visits to the Chinese arm of Ferrero to study how the company repositioned its Ferreror Rocher brand to the local market, and Jala Group, a leading cosmetics manufacturer.

This year’s G20 YEA summit focused on disruptive innovation and smart entrepreneurship. Angelica was part of a panel discussing the Entrepreneur Visa due to her experience of working internationally with DIG in Rome, London and New York. The Entrepreneur Visa would grant flexible entry to G20 countries via a ‘working holiday’ visa, which would allow entrepreneurs easier access to work internationally. Angelica welcomed the proposal and stressed the need for flexibility, access and networking on a global scale for today’s entrepreneurs.

The final communiqué was then presented to the Business 20 (B20) and world leaders in Hangzhou. The communiqué is a call to action for G20 governments to focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, entrepreneurial education, and to address job creation as well as youth employment.

The key recommendations from this year’s G20 YEA summit are:

  1. Make entrepreneurship education compulsory for all learners in primary and secondary levels.
  2. Encourage and support the creation of university-based incubators and accelerators in partnership with the private sector, institutions and foundations.
  3. Drive the development of angel networks and alternative innovative funding platforms for young entrepreneurs through targeted incentives.
  4. Implement structural and legal reforms to promote entrepreneurship by reducing costs, bureaucracy, business disruption, and legal gaps.
  5. Enable SMEs to scale through fiscal incentives for scale-ups and its investors.
  6. Implement a policy to assist young entrepreneurs to trade with others countries.
  7. Establish a G20 Entrepreneur Visa to provide multilateral long-term visa and fast-track clearance for entrepreneurs within G20 countries.
  8. Ensure access to reliable/low cost high-speed digital infrastructure for start-ups and scale-up businesses.
  9. Build an innovation dialogue among G20 countries.
