LONDON, England – July 2016 Donati Immobiliare Group (DIG), an Italian-born international development company, has acquired 1 Beachy Road, Fish Island in Hackney Wick, London for an undisclosed amount. DIG will develop a mixed-use scheme on the approx. 4,300 sq ft. site.
The scheme will replace an existing underdeveloped site to make more efficient use of the underutilised brownfield land and create a high-quality building that sets the standard for future development in this area of Fish Island.
Angelica Donati, CEO of DIG, comments: “This part of Hackney Wick is becoming highly sought after, with lots of development underway. As a largely industrial area, it can be seen as higher risk than more central locations, however we see the potential and are comfortable looking at opportunities that others might shy away from, particularly in an area where land prices are still relatively low and allow for us to safeguard returns.
“We anticipate a high-quality scheme delivered at a reasonable cost, with an industrial inspired design that will attract local, young professionals. We want to maximise Fish Island’s potential as a commercial and residential destination and to see it thrive as one of the city’s newest urban quarters.”
